Our services

Members of our team have themselves made the move from the UK to full-time living and working here in France and are fluent in both French and English, so we know how time consuming searching for properties can be in France and how frustrating the French way of doing things can sometimes be. This is one of those unavoidable pre-requisites of property buying in this country and we hope that you will come to enjoy the experience.

What we do, we do well

  • With our extensive knowledge of the area, we will be able locate the exact property to fit your specific needs.
  • We will arrange appointments for property visits before your arrival so that you can make the most of your time once you are here.
  • We will help you to become acquainted with the legalities of the French system, and explain each step along the way to enable you to understand some of the necessary requirements and processes for buying or selling a property in France.
  • We have lists of notaires, architects, builders, plumbers and electricians who can help you during and after your purchase.
  • We will provide you with information on local services, schools etc.
  • We will work closely with your appointed legal team to ensure that you have the smoothest possible move.

Buying a home in France

Buying a home is a daunting experience, but buying in another country can be even more nerve-racking due to the language barrier, cultural differences and the inevitable misunderstandings.

We know that this can be even more stressful when far away from the area as members of our team have themselves moved home from the UK to live and work full-time here in France.

We know that your time is precious when you visit our area, so we will ensure that we match your requirements to our properties and propose a short list of the most suitable to you before you arrive. We will then arrange to have several viewings ready for you before you come.

Once you have decided on a property, we will keep in touch with you, your notaire and the seller’s notaire, keeping you informed of developments all along the way.

It will be useful for you to :

  • Have a budget in mind - Assess how much you can afford. Pay attention to exchange rates especially if borrowing money from French banks.
  • Define your needs - Look at the practicalities. What is the main reason for buying? Do you want a holiday home or a permanent residence? Do you need to be close to schools etc ?.
  • Financial requirements - The notaire will need to know whether you are financing the purchase yourselves or whether you have a mortgage/loan for the property when drawing up the sales agreement.
  • Above all, be flexible - Let us guide you and help you to enjoy the experience.
